The potential benefits of underfloor air-distribution (UFAD) systems have been identified as improved ventilation effectiveness, occupant satisfaction with thermal comfort and energy performance, as well as increased ease of reconfiguration. However, further research is needed to provide a better understanding of performance. Achieving these benefits depends on the installation, operation and use of the system, as well as the underlying design – “the only downside to UFAD and DV is learning how to properly implement and construct them.“
